Well that was the Heading I anticipated writing after finally ( yeah i know) refitting the fuel tank and associated pipes.
Except - it doesn't live.
Found time yesterday to finish the connections twixt tank and pump. Turned the key to prime the pumps/system and battery didnt have enough juice to turn the engine over.
Stuck it on charge and tried later, still not much charge so used the little boost pack. Turned over but with little effect.
Left it on charge overnight, tried it today. Turns over but that's it.
So. I know fuel is getting to the rail, as i undid one end to check.
Whats next to check?
Pull an HT lead and stick a plug in it to check for a spark?
As a recap; Hasn't been driven since last years road trip, fuel is 'old' but works well enough in the other engine driven garden appliances.
Nothings changed to the fuel system barring the tank.

That’s where I would start. Make sure your getting a spark and you may find the plugs are wet which would also back up that your getting fuel through

Although i'm pretty useless myself with cars but agree with Matt, if you don't have a spark work back wards, leads, coil pack. May even be a crank sensor ?
If your coil park is the same as mine I think I have a spare, again crank sensor if its the same. I also have a starter charger if that will help.
Keep going Mark,We need the captain out with us.

cheers Chaps.
Sadly didnt get a chance today as was working. Hoping to get a bit of time tomorrow.
Will look at the plug end of an HT lead to start with, should have a spare plug or two, as dont want to try to take mine out as don't fancy having a ham fisted 'incident; getting one out.
Other than that, yep i have a spare coil i could try, and maybe a spare crank sensor kicking around too.
will report back....

I've got both, just the issue of getting them to you, but if you have any bright ideas happy for you to borrow?
Just a thought and probably not it as you say you have fuel but given the only thing you've changed is fuel related, have you got you feed and return pipes the right way round?

That's a specialist area, surely. Rob is the man to speak to about that sort of thing.

Re: It lives...........
cheers all.
Update. Chris AKA Wilf from Snodhurst popped over today, to sanity check that my own fiddling/checking of spark/ht/coil/crank sensor was right. I must learn how to use a multimeter!
anyhoooo. no spark, nada, zilch.
next attack will be the ECU as seems that everything is getting volts but no 'command'...
will update again in due course.
Like all things in life, i have barely missed the car due to other 'things', course, soon as i started to play with getting it fixed am itching to get out and drive it.
