Air lock or Head Gasket that is the question

Yes the 1.8 has a smaller combustion chamber. My brother is running the same setup on his car it didn’t seem to touch when turning over by hand but maybe it does when screaming.
We haven’t had his head off again since changing it as it did seem to go better with it so it’s been left on

I have been told by the previous owner that despite the serial number saying it a 1.8 he is 100% sure its a 2ltr are it came with a new crate 2ltr engine..

If the serial number says it’s a 1.8 then it must be a 1.8
