6 full days work on the car so far and loads gone on. Been let down buy the loom supplier or it should have been started by now but thats kit car life!! ANC Sportscars have made so many excellent mods to (lazy) MEVs kit its very easy even if you were a 1st time builder

Seeing as no one else has piped up...

I haven't built one but I lived with a MX-5 turbo engine in a kit car and had to resolve a few problems. What's the nature of your question?

Hi mate,
Just a general question really tbh. I know its a path well trodden but was interested to see if anyone here had done it.

Cheers

It is a well trodden path for the MX-5 boys and girls. Plenty of kits around these days to fit a TD04 to get something like 210-230 BHP. The ME221 ECU plugs straight into the MX-5 loom.

That said, wouldn't naturally aspirated power suit the styling era of your car a bit more? I think you can get a reasonable output from the MK2.5 VVT engine fitted with some (GSXR) throttle bodies and and aftermarket ECU.

Im doing a modern retro look and have decided supercharger rather than turbo. The modern retro look can be changed to full on classic look by changing wheels, lights etc. All bolt on bolt off changes. Supercharger is more period for full classic too mate. Im not using mx5 loom or ECU mate, Autosparks loom and Canems standalone ECU. Pics on my blog https://mycarlifeprojects.blogspot.com/

Wow that looks really good, I think with that look it deserves a nice quick engine.
