Well done DJ.
To be honest, just taking the f*cking thing out and putting it back is enough of a challenge! Just put mine back in today.

Liked that write up Duncan, very well put together and written.
Shame I can't have one, that was going to be my upgrade this winter, turns out I have a Kolhn axle and they don't do one for that Doh.
Hope you notice the difference Duncan, you will be disappearing in the distance now.

I have to ask what oil was you running in the plate diff , we run them on the race cars as do lots of people these dont seem to give any real problems when you consider how hard they are set up and the abuse they get

Hi Dick,
I used Fuchs titan 90ls, GL5 oil. The titan lsd performed well for me, but at 35,000 miles use, it went 20,000 past the recommended service interval so I can't complain.
I changed to the ATB as I don't enjoy taking the diff out regularly.

Good stuff. Yes my diff woes (leaks) were solved when I realised MNR knocked too larger seals into the diff. Dropped down a couple of mm and leaks stopped!
I wouldn't want to take onem out completely though I think that's past my skill and patience level

Excellent write up Duncan! Hopefully this will last you for many more years blatting now.
I've no idea about diffs... that's a job I'd certainly be unsure about tackling myself.

I wouldn't have tried if Matt hadn't already done the swap and said he would help me.

Re: An idiot's guide to swapping LSDs in a Sierra final drive.
Good news, I've just been out for a decent run and the diff drives well, no horrible clonking or grinding, just a bit of whine at certain speeds as it has done from new. Best of all, no sign of leaks when I got home
I now have all new discs and pads all round and greased wheel bearings too. Track day booked at the end of April, I just need to get my MOT and I'm set for the summer
