Been quite a while since I updated this thread on activities in and around the Robin Hood, after the Scottish road trip and near fire on my attempted trip to kings Lynn I spent quite some time reworking and putting the original wiring on a diet, then decided to raise the steering wheel resulting in having to fit a removable steering wheel boss so I could get the bonnet up.
I also overhauled and powder coated the brake callipers and some of the suspension parts
First few trips out seemed to run reasonably well, had to leave the car outside the garage for a few weeks under a light cover in storms.
Then car decided not to start unless using loads of easy start and then still not well, days of various testing and trying out replacement parts proved fruitless so I removed and proved the inlet manifolds was fine but convinced me to strip and overhaul the twin 45s that had no reason to untune or go bad whilst not used and stored outside but I already had a service kit so stripped, cleaned and serviced them.
I found nothing actually wrong as suspected as I had already cleaned the jets a few times in the preceding weeks, out with my cheap carb balancer after a bit of u tube watching and they are better but still need another sweep when it eventually stops raining.
It passed its mot recently and after that I decided to dig a bit deeper on a couple issues that I had not found time to sort due to other activities.
The seat runner is always a git to move as I do not think the floor holes are spot on causing it to twist, so the seat is out so I can check the alignment, overhaul the seat frame and also repair and fit in the drivers seat carpet that keeps on riding up. Pics to follow.
