So I need a set of gauges for my TR6 and note loads of tempting (very) cheap gauges that look on paper attractive. Has anyone any experience of these, presumably made in China / India gauges?
With Smiths and similar gauge sets at £800 plus and these at £200, it is a shame I quite like the dial faces of them.

Re: Gauges
In a kit, I would go Chinese and take a chance. For a TR6, I would try and retain the original gauges, they can sometimes be refurbished or buy new original style ones.

Re: Gauges
I've got these from my first dash attempt, it was wired up and trial fitted, but some were not tested due to them being not just electrical other than lights. any good ?

Re: Gauges
The original gauges were mechanical so I sold them off plus they were not in too good a condition and needed full cleaning. Also my dash will be a walnut one so I am looking for a cream / white dial face.
I'll probably have to go with Smiths but I do like some of the cheapo faces and the startup sweep gives a bit of bling.
Thanks jason, but I'll give them a miss and I need seven as well.

GBS (Kit Spares) do a Smiths set for around £400 - well, they did when I was building a few years ago.

They are now £700 plus VAT. Spoke to Richard Hall there at the Stonleigh show.

Re: Gauges
Odd that so why is one at that price and all te others more?

As it happens, I want a white / cream dial.

Re: Gauges
I've just taken an ETB white / chrome speedo & tacho out of the Stylus. They are just about new Cobra clocks so the speedo goes anticlockwise & the tacho has "8cyl" on the face. They're 100mm jobs & will be going on Ebay, but PM me if you're interested & I'll send details / photos.
