I was looking at this
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1991782.htm thinking it looks quite nice.
Which got me think....I wonder what someone would pay for the Phoenix. So what do we think then?

The car all looks good and if you add up all the bits it is value for money but only having covered 400 miles what happens when you buy it and it goes pop as a turbo R1 is likely to do you are going to be paying a huge repair bill.
Much better to buy a car with a less stressed engine. I was looking to buy a bike on the bay that was an r1 turbo the seller removed it because the head gasket had gone.

This was more about what my Phoenix is worth rather than the Fury...

Problem is we all think our cars are worth what we have paid for them I am sure your car is worth as much if not more its all about finding the right buyer who appreciates your car. £400 cash and i will tarmac your drive as well sir.

Jeff, even with the spec of your car it wouldn't return what its cost you to date IMHO. Ultimately it is a Phoenix with a tuned blacktop. 160+ at the back wheels is not exceptional in a buyers eyes and although its very tidy its a buyers market as Pistonheads is full of high spec cars.
I don't want to put it down as it is a cracking car but my experience is that none of these are worth what we think. Don't know anyone making a profit out of them compared to what we spend.
IMHO

I don't expect it to return what I've paid out over the last 3.5 years (it would need to be £20K ish to do that). As always it is worth what someone will pay for it. 160+ at the wheels is better than you would think, when I first got the car it was only making 145 flywheel on carbs, then 155 flywheel on ITBs so 200BHP is a big difference.

Stick it on eBay with no reserve 99p start. Then you'll find out what someone is willing to pay! Just don't blame me if it goes for 99p lol

My guess would be £8k Jeff, maybe £8.5. I think it's a higher spec than most and I think all else being equal the Pheonix is worth about £500 more than the Fury depending on who's looking.
What do you think?

Sounds about right. The big issue with resale is that it was a Cat D. It was orginally a Striker and then had a accident when it was classed as a Cat D. Then is was rebuilt as a Phoenix. Never really worried me (it is a kit car at the end of the day) but if you do a HPI on it they will say Cat D.
I've thought about the Fury and decided that I'll spend more money on the Phoenix instead
