In the unlikely event that I was looking to buy one, I think I'd go for a McLaren rather than a Ferrari now. Seriously quick, but what's it like compared to your Ultima?

The ride is amazing it rides bumps like a Rolls Royce without roll. The gear changes are seamless. Brian's has an Titanium exhaust and sounds fantastic. I have not driven it, although I did have the offer  , but it is so well sorted. Very impressed.

The McLaren has some cool bits. If you put the windscreen wipers on it drys the brakes periodically so they stay ready for use. The fit and finish is perfect. With the double glassed windows up it is quiet but with the rear window down you can hear the exhaust. You would not know the engine is twin turbo; the power is instant.

It feels just a quick as the Ultima but no drama. The Ultima is a lot more work. The steering is heavier and as a manual the clutch is heavy and the non assisted brakes need some effort. The numbers say the Ultima is quicker but it is not noticeable, they are both manically quick but the Ultima gear changes throw your head back (or maybe I cannot drive it   8-) ). Very different experiences :D

If I had the money I would buy a Camparo T1. That said I am an idiot but the McLaren would be in front of the 488 for me :D

It must be nice to actually experience these cars, I just read about them. Still enjoy my Seven though :)

Duncan no problem with giving you a ride in the Ultima. Probably better if you can come to a trackday. We do not get it back until August. I think I am not far off getting the best out of the Caterham but a long way short of the Ultima. I have ambition to do better with the car. :D :? Your call :o

I spoke to Brian and he got it right the difference is one is an Epee and the other is a war hammer. Both are great weapons. One is a precision and the other ----.
