I saw a post on Facebook about a classic car breakfast meet at the Harvester at The Quay in Glasgow. At 89 and with multiple health issues my dad doesn't get out much, I thought it would be a good chance to give him a nice brekkie and maybe bring back some memories for him. Nothing too strenuous. He can't sit for long or walk any distance so the venue was ideal. Loaded his rollater which is larger than it seems into the +2 part of the Q (too big for the boot) and squeezed him into the passenger seat and off we went.
Had a nice brekkie and a short stroll (or should say roll) along the quayside and then a look at the dozen or so cars that had turned up. Nice to meet Club member Brian Wraith and his wife in their Sumo Cobra rep ( and fix a small water leak) Also chatted to a guy preparing a Volvo Amazon for next years Monte Carlo rally so all in all not a bad morning.
Dad really enjoyed it and we hit home before the rain started. Hardest and funniest part was trying to get him out of the Q. Nearly lost my passengers side window as he grabbed it to take his weight as he tried to pull himself up.
These types of meets are becoming very popular and the venues are delighted to get some extra business. Basic brekkie at £4.99 although we went for the full bhoona but still only £16 for all we could eat and drink.

Sounds a good way to start father's day for him
My Dad has been in my seven, but he didn't find the composite seat too comfortable.

Great idea Bob,
My dad loved the Goodwood Revival for the classic cars, its used to take ages to get through the car park reminiscing about cars he, his parents and friends had owned. Well done.
