A vauxhall XE red top sanspeed told me that these carb's are designed for this engine and some other 16 valve engines and in the technical no-how.there is something extra in side

Be carful when your changing the linkages over very easy to damage the tab washer as they are very thin. Check the tabs are on the choke retainer bolts on the under side if none fitted then dril and wire them is best. You may want to fit a twin fuel feed pipe to one of the carbs as neater job and you only need the single fuel feed pipe. Don't skimp on the linkage if a problem occurs with an twin carb set up its nearly all ways the linkage. We only ever fitted the mise plate type o-ring seal plates. Check the fitting bolt lengths be for you try fitting them up see lots that are to long and hold carbs off the manifold.
On the plus side they sound like nothing else when driving I do miss the sound.
A very nice extra for the car

They are nice, but thank god I sold my pair of original 1960's 40's and manifolds
what a nightmare they were,
never in tune, needed balancing EVERY time I used the car,
drank fuel as in 10mpg to the gallon, on a 1700 xflow !
and caught fire twice. once on the motorway doing 70

apart from that, I loved the smell of petrol all the time

one good point,
the noise of twin 40's sucking in air, now that's a sound that can not be repeated

steve
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at
