Midget 2 weeks in....

Postby Hammy » Wed Mar 29, 2017 2:43 pm

I picked the MG nearly 2 weeks ago now and a bits gone on.......

Its booked in for welding in 2 weeks, a tune up at Hawthorns Engineering tomorrow, and Ive lowered it with the MGB Hive kit..... its crap and will be removed and the Magic Midget full suspension kit will be fitted.

Bumpers are coming off and will be bumperless (they are 75kgs!!!) Heavy wrecked old seats are gone and lightweight fixed buckets are in.....Image

My favourite bit of bling so far are these....Image

Dash is being restored and has now been sprayed, 12 inch Mountney wheel has arrived. So far the car stands me at £2k all in and its legal, MOT'd documented 74K and 5 owners from 1976.....Image

The welding and prep for paint is £500 and the Revolution wheels Im getting are £350 so in about a months time Im £3k in for what will be a very cool little MG for the summer. Winter will bring the type 9 and engine mods. I also have some fibreglass wings to further reduce the weight.

Happy days

PS. I know its not a kit but the MG clubs are not a patch on SKCC, hope you like the update gents.

No its not a kit, but much like mine not much of the original car will be left which makes it the next best thing to a kit, and somewhat controversially are all kit cars really kits, the Caterham dealership at Gatwick near my place of work has what look like brand new ready assembled cars parked outside every day  .........I'll get my coat
