So whilst Ive turned many Zetecs into RWD my current project (after research) leans towards the Rover K series. I've read and absorbed a multitude of 'stuff' ... all sorts of stuff from "bar talk" head gaskets to super lightweight and great power. (Good enough for Lotus)
Anyway I decide on a K and almost bought a couple on ebay but just wasnt happy with the story from any of the breakers and decided (like normal) to buy a running donor. MG ZS or MG ZR were my choices and the ZR's seemed to be attracting too many bids (£600 - £1200) or were plastered in halfords mods and 70 million inch rims. So on Sunday I spotted an MG ZS 1.8 saloon in auction with 86k miles £200 starting price and no reserve...................
Anyway I was the only bidder and got it for £200, drove it 70 miles from Stevenage with zero issues. Went through the history and this is how it reads.
Ex demo plus 1 owner for 14 years
FSH from same dealer
MOT'd and fully serviced in March this year
Cam belt 30k ago
I picked it with almost a full tank of fuel! I get the engine, loom, ecu. Then I have a tidy interior to sell and alloys with new tyres to sell too. Shell gets scrapped. Sometimes you get lucky suppose and at the moment I keep thinking 'dont get too cocky' but bloody hell! What a find!

Sounds like a result and has all the hallmarks of a good thread; and once you've shoe-horned it into the Midget I can pick your brains
