I thought oil cans were supposed to have a built in breather??. I've got three outlets from the rocker covers all connected to the catch can, the fourth hole on the rocker cover is the oil filler cap. The can is filling up pretty quickly. I'm thinking the engine is pressurising because there is no breather, then forcing the oil out one or more of the pipes. The valley gasket also seems to be leaking with pools of oil collecting, any thoughts?

Yep lots of them

The oil can cap does allow breathing, so it's not creating back pressure. There are some suggestions on line that the breather system needs negative pressure, i.e. routed back to the intake.

Dont need neg pressure thats about enissions. The tank needs to be able to vent. The tank works best if it higher than the engine but hard to do in our cars. The breather hoses can be routed high befor the tank this helps a lot. Need to check the outlets on the engines have some form of baffle to stop spray. If thank is filling up very quick then you can put drain return to sump above oil level.

I filled it to the full mark on the dipstick Tony. I prefilled the oil filter. It did take a fair bit. Looking at the capacitys 5.5 litres should be about it, though It was closer to 7 litres to get it to the Mark. Potential over fill by the looks of it.

Not so sure on the overfill
