Engine is in most of the ancillaries bolted on. I put some studs on for the exhaust and are thinking of doing the same on the inlet but need to check space constraints. And most importantly I have oil pressure! Although I did have to crank it a lot longer than I was expecting- cue heart attack

Here I sit, broken hearted, paid a penny and... well not broken hearted! Done numpty didn’t reconnect the rad fan switch  so the CLT got a bit high and I’ve ejected some water! On the plus side it’s running well, still got a lot of tuning too do but in running in mode so trying to keep the RMP below 3000. Producing 8 psi of boost so might be getting a smaller SC pulley but fine for the moment. Once it’s all cool I’ll add some coolant and waste some more fuel!! :D

Good news, plugging the rad fan in worked! No more fluid loss :D
Tuning is going ok but it sounds a bit like a tractor. I think once I past running in I'll get a proper dyno tune down by someone who has more of a clue than me! As I think it's the timing that's responsible for the tractor noise.

Will keep posting updates but I think we are on a winner.

Heavily indebted to Dick and Steve for all of the advice and putting up with my dumb questions, now I need a beer :D :D :D :D

Edit: Just having a look through the logs and am getting 9 psi of boost, at 3300rpm

I need to change the gauge CLT sensor as its reading about 40 degrees too high. My homemade thermostat worked although there was a beet of weeping coming from it, so I decided to weld it up and made it worse as the coolant had contaminated the weld! Lesson learnt and I've got my hands on an ally one for £50 so that'll be going in. Charge cooler plumbing needs sorting as I still have a slight leak, but 9it looks like it did it's job keeping IAT to 60.. actually is that working ??

Well done Chris, still time to enjoy it this summer once you're happy with the way it is running :)

You know it was too good to be true, but I just want to check some things. Firstly the engine binds when it's warm, it'll still start but turns over like the battery is low on power, I don't know if this indicates a problem or if it's just bedding in.
The second is the noise, it sounds like a tractor, I suspect the timing but don't know if it is or which way to move it. I have checked the timing with a static timing and a strobe so I know it's set right (well within a couple of degrees as it's hard to gauge looking at the timing marks from an angle!)
And lastly, it's smoking - a bit - it's not as bad as when I mashed the pistons and may be due to the run in oil which is 10W40 rather than 5W30.

Some files below showing the smoking and the sound of the engine whilst driving:

Looks like I'll be getting my spanners out again, compression test results on a warm engine with WOT (in PSI):

1: 10
2: 100
3: 25
4: 100

So it's a 2 cylinder ATM, which explains why it sounds like it's misfiring!
