Happy Memories

While clearing out my parents' house a few years ago I came across a video (not that kind) of me racing my Honda CBR600 at Lydden Hill in March 94, I would have been 24. I've just got round to copying it from VHS to Youtube. The class was Supersport 600 which is for 600cc 4 stroke production bikes with modifications allowed, mine had 105bhp at the rear wheel which was plenty on a light bike, rivets straight at Snetterton would yield over 150mph. It brings back happy memories of me racing with my Dad and a couple of good mates helping - it seems like a lifetime ago and I guess it was. I thought I'd share it and it's well worth watching to the end! I'm on No6

nice one Steve......what did i learn, well i learned the term 'let the brakes run', and that you weren't shabby to 2 wheels, but it did leave me with the important question.....
should we address you as Steve Barskett or Steve Baskett? oh and had you pissed off the commentator before the race, because he didn't seem to want to acknowledge that you were racing til you took 2nd.....

Nice vid and nice riding.i had a few cbrs great bikes and great engines.
My dad was the lap record holder in a outfit round there in the 60s they use to have a big pic of the bike in the tea hut (which was where the race control is now) for years so i am told i keep saying i will do a track say down there in a car and take him round maybe this year as its his 70th.
