New Wheeler Dealers yes or no ?

Postby locost220 » Mon Jan 22, 2018 9:26 pm

So today (as in now) sees the third episode of the new series with new boy Ant Anstead replacing Ed China in the mechanic spot.
So with a different approach to the show, not trying to show every job but focusing on a couple of the jobs, what do we think -
Rich.

Antwis is ok, Brewer has grown in his 'knobness'... I only saw the cossie escort episode. But that was enough. Maybe it's me but lots of these shows stand out at the beginning as we identify with the subject or the presenters. After a while little things start to grate - impossible deadlines, miraculous recovery....
bit like Richard Rawlins.....first few series i loved. Now he comes across as an egotistical muppet - sorry, very rich muppet.

I watch it because there is never anything else on and the fact there is a car involved keeps me half interested. Brewer is a massive bellend though. Why the feck is it in America though??

I like Ants style and he is a good car man. I hope this programme escalates his career. Brewer makes me cringe!

Dissapointed Ed China hasn’t done something by now.

All in all I didn’t mind the programme although it’s like most of these series and is shallow with moments of quality. I understand why from a production point of view. Look at the bad obsession production. It’s got all the detail but goes on too long.

I assume because Discovery are funding it and that is their biggest audience.

I liked Ant on the previous show, but now his manner is starting to grate.

At the end of the day it is what it is. I'll probably watch it as it's easy watching and there's the occasional learning point.

I watch it, or rather, have it on while doing something else, but normally I will flick through the discovery programs, and if something else is on that seems better ill watch it, if not, back to wheeler dealers,
Forged in fire is one of my favs, and if its an episode I havnt seen it gets priority
Last night the prog about The Queen Mary was very interesting on normal TV

I will watch anything with Cars Planes Trains Boats etc, even watch Hows it made !!

Normal tv is aimed at the other breed of people we have to share the planet with

Females !!
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

I stopped after Ed left. I do like CAR SOS though, (except Fuzz's cambelt changes lol)

so do i, but there's a case in point.....whathisface getting freebies just because he suddenly asks, having the tight timeframe and pulling it out of the bag. But overall i think its a pretty good watch - because of Fuzz really....

I personally think it's sh*te. The new format is pretty poor. Why does Ant talk out the corner of his mouth all the time :D

Although if you really want to suffer try watching Yianni Supercar modifier or whatever it's called. I came close to gouging my eyes out with a teaspoon!

Goblin works garage another pile of toss.

Salvage Hunters Classic Cars - only one episode in so far and it seems ok at the moment.

Car SOS gets to me because most of the owners have had a crap event in their lives, I'd like to have a look at the cars after to see what sort of quality the restorations are like.
