So i was sat at home the other evening (bored) and thought i need something to take my evenings up....
Off to the internet i went and found a Porsche 911 Targa that needs some work and bought it!
The thing that really grabbed me about this Porsche is that it is has ford gear similar to my MK. It has a 5 link back axle (i don't know much about these) and 5 speed sierra gear box.
Im planning on using the car for weekends and fun trackways, i don't really want it as a power house (my budget doesn't stretch).
It doesn't have an engine?! but is set up for a front mounted engine to rear wheel drive, so I'm thinking of a 2.0 zebec but open to suggestions... so fire away.. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Re: Porsche Project....
Great project I'd look towards a Jag S type V6 Sport Manual. Get a whole car and use wiring ecu etc, maybe add bodies and management at a later date to give around 340bhp

Re: Porsche Project....
Would the Jaguar engine mate to the rest of it?
also i have limited room under the front (sloping) bonnet, i presume this V6 lump is pretty large compared with a zetec?

No, this is an original Porsche 911 Targa 1980, have the V5 still registered as such.

It should be shorter than a zetec, so should sit back a little further. Might have to make a custom drive shaft and mess about with mountings etc. The manual version is a Getrag box, I would use the engine and box so no mating issues. Some measurements may be required to see if it'll go. If I was building a Luego Viento this is the option I'd go for, hypothetically speaking of course.

Re: Porsche Project....
Mmm, I'm confused ( it doesn't take much for that to happen) why would someone convert an iconic car like a 911 to a front engine layout? Am I missing something or is it one of those 'because I could' things.
