The £1K doesn't include the tyres (we are talking a set of 4 Force Wheels). A set of Sprint slicks is another £1K

Very nice wheels.
What are sprint slicks? Excuse my ignorance but hadn't heard of these before.

Basically slicks which are in a specific compound for sprinting (Avon A15 & A92)

Am I correct in assuming the compound is extra soft so they grip well immediately you start?

Yes, they work by shearing the rubber off rather than relying on tempurature. The A92 would not last a whole lap of Goodwood before going off for instance. A92 is for short hillclimbs and A15 tends to be a sprint compound.
