Opposite lock in a GT40 at Goodwood :)

Postby DJ. » Fri Aug 19, 2016 7:42 pm

Apologies if you've already seen this video, but I've just been watching Kenny Brack wrestling with a GT40 at Goodwood in the wet at the revival 2013.

Highlights are him driving almost the full length of the pit straight passing a car with the steering wheel anyway other than straight. He also passes another GT40 on the outside at Madgewick

:o that's mental. Proper commitment at all times.
I never see him change gear, doesn't look like there's ever a good moment to take a hand off the wheel  . But i take it gear stick is on the right?

Yes gear change is on the right . Nice to see in car footage of this type but I must say I'm not a big fan of Kenny Brack he all ways seems to be so aggressive and snatching in his driving style if you compare him to others think its still called over driving. I like the more in control type of drivers and feel that sometime the driving he displays is more to do with the camera than the car . ( ill now await the incoming) not saying he is doing it wrong just its not for me.

I see what you mean Dick, there's also an interview after the race where he explains his driving style. The track had dry patches and he basically slipped and slid from one dry patch to the next rather than coast at "full" wet speed. The car was running cross plys which also gave no grip whatsoever which added to the fun.

As you say no right or wrong, though it seems to work for him.
Power.. small nail, fast hammer, Torque.. small nail, big hammer.. I got a big hammer :P

Yep cross ply tyres don't help but then other people drive with them and don't do as he does. Mind you I think the gt40 was run on bia ply tyres and not cross ply as he said? but then I was not there. Works for him but as I said don't do much for me still think he plays to the camera :D

Get back in the garage and get that engine done , if you want the stuff to set the cam timing upas it should be I have it all at work if you want to borrow it
