Brass or ally?

Postby kenton » Tue Feb 07, 2017 7:08 pm

I'm fitting a remote housing for an oil pressure sender and low oil pressure warning light.
There isnt enough room to run the braided stainless feed pipe from the remote filter housing without using a 90' elbow. So whats best to use, least like to stress fracture.

I had an alloy t piece fitted on the robin hood and it fractured on a French trip. Got it home and changed it for a brass one and never had another problem.

My gut says brass, but that's without any scientific evidence to back it up

I'm leaning towards brass, actually i've just ordered one, although if ally is the way to go my spares will have grown.

I'd say brass, especially if it's screwing into aluminium.
