Winter upgrades... in the summer!

Postby russtik » Mon May 15, 2017 11:50 am

Sooooooooooooo as hinted elsewhere there may be more going on with my car than a clutch change. I'd been toying with the idea of doing something (relatively) drastic ever since getting the car and an opportunity arose recently which jolted me out of my procrastination. Shame it's all happening in summer time but hey-ho.

Needless to say it's an engine-out job with some tasty things planned. I'll not give the details just yet but here's a few pics to whet your appetite...

Oh and for those that don't know I'm currently running a standard Toyota 4A-GE mated to a Type 9 with Omex 200, twin Weber 40s and a custom exhaust manifold naturally which produces around 135bhp / 117 lb/ft.

One things for sure, you're definitely going to need a stronger clutch now
MkII Marlin Roadster with Ford 2.0L Pinto and Type 9 gearbox. Going for the oily rag restoration look :-)

It's not quite summer yet, How long will you be upgrading for? Helix, I have one in the westy, so far so good.

I'd look at the AP Racing paddle range of clutchs.
