So what type of fuel hose do you choose for an injection setup and why? Where do you buy it from?

I would avoid the risk of fake hose from eBay and go to CBS. Heard too many stories of unleaded spec hose perishing. Not worth saving a couple of quid.

First there was leaded-only hose dissolving in unleaded (had some of that), then unleaded petrol hose dissolving in E10 petrol.

From now on we are going to run solid metal or plastic pipe as far as we can and then join with flexible at the ends I'm sick and tired of have too remove fuel lines from cars that are supposed to be the recommended standard for today fuels. We have used just about every type in the past even the ptfe braided one gave problems on the fittings we tried different types as well. I think if i was using this again i would get the stuff with the commercial crimp ends done. One of the worst was the stainless covered rubber types as we could not see it degrading until it let go.

I've got a solid copper line running down the tunnel for the feed. I'm going to renew the flexis and add a return line and swirlpot configuration.

While tempted to scour eBay for the cheapest price on like-for-like hose I think as mentioned probably the best plan is to go for a trusted supplier and something like this:

Also the solid nylon (I think) type available from GBS is very good, comes in black and red one for feed and one for return, then you can use the rubber type at the end fittings, very easy to run it and manipulate the positioning much easier than metal pipes.

Looks good, I only wonder a couple of things:

• I assume there's no way the swage the ends so is it considered safe to just jubilee clip a rubber hose onto the straight pipe?
• What do the colours correspond to? I.e. which colour for which application (feed/return)?

Should be alright I think it's what the manufacturers are using

They make an insert that you bang in the end of the pipe to reinforce it so it will not distort when you fit the rubber hose over and clip it down . They are available from places that sell pipes and fitting , even found them on ebay if you want to see what they look like.
