High spec older or lower spec newer.

Postby b33fy » Tue Oct 31, 2017 7:24 am

Still looking for a car for swmbo, happened apon a Honda dealer and clocked the civic ( yeh I know Jay, I take everything I said back  ) Had a bit of a search, found a 2015 car (65 reg) with 16,000 miles and fully loaded, everything. Sat Nav, cruise, zoned climate, leather heated seats, panoramic roof etc etc. (SR trim)

Also found a 66 reg 3,000 mile car, Identical looking externally, without leather, roof or sat nav. Though well specced generally. (Sport trim) The newer car is £300 more expensive.

Which one would you go for? The only caveat is swmbo would prefer sav nav which is not fitted as standard to the newer car, though I could persuade to live without.

i;m a sucker for bells n whistles....so if i was keeping the car for a while i'd buy the one that has the most ( usable ) upgrades.

For me higher spec older model. Cheaper and probably easier to sell on when the time comes.

eerrr.. too late..

I promised myself I wouldn't do a Martin :D Final choice, high spec car. All signed sealed and awaiting collection, (took all of 5 minutes this morning) The car is just north of Peterborough.. (yeh yeh, bought blind.. ) SWMBO can hitch a ride up there and go get it, its her car anyhow.

Not sure why, really chuffed with this one, more so than any other car, except maybe my first Octavia vRS which couldn't turn up soon enough. Saw the Snodhurst crew briefly today, expecting some flack, but no, it was high on the approval list. A few ricer references but I deserve that. might look at putting a few Type R touches on it, though never really that interested in fooking over a daily driver.

Adverts have been pulled though managed to grab a few images from the advert below. SWMBO will be chuffed with it I'm sure. :)

Should have had them both. With your luck a spare would come in handy

Thanks Mark, colour choice important, mostly greys, silver etc, for the few that were for sale, they look nice, though I got lucky with this one with the optional black wheels.
