So mini rolling repairs are underway.
Bi annual cleaning of the rear chassis, petrol tank areas have given me an idea for a cunning plan.
Decided after the cleaning with a grinder flap wheel, inspecting for any bad rust i was fed up doing this and the epoxy painting and the grinder will eventually wear the box section out. So why not sheet out the rear area area to protect the area from future damage, extent it up the edges on the rear chassis as well.
So after the red primer and black epoxy applied I have cut section from sheet steel and drilled and taped out loads of holes.
This should do a grand job once all painted up black of course. So the question is would i be wasting my time making and fitting some of the longitudial bibs to these as far as aerodynamics are concerned, (as per example). Not sure what order these pics will come out in.

Re: rear stone guard come difuser ?
I panelled under the engine bay last winter & it's made a big difference to how much crud it collects. As for aero, looks like the floor is flat, so that's a good start - a diffuser will do nothing if the air's turbulent. The side walls will need to be as close to the floor as you dare to stop the air just coming in from the sides.

How bizarre, as this was something I was planning on doing over the winter on my locost, and incredibly, it looks just like yours !!
However, mine will be an alui one piece sheet to cover the whole of the rear underneath, with a hole cut out for the rear axle,
steve
