yep the renewal came through a short time ago from A-Plan, have to say very happy!
£200 inc 7miles per year, EU/UK breakdown & recovery, which given i had a claim of £1700 in the not too distant past was good....but what made it better was they turned around the Agreed Value - err valuation in 48 hrs which i thought was really good going.
With the snow and everything I hadn't been able to get into the garage to get the necessary pic's....
If you've never done an Agreed Value...basically you take a set of pics; sides, rear. front, cockpit, engine bay and speedo...attach them to an written overview about the car along with the figure you realistically hope for and they get it reviewed/agreed. Clearly you can't ask for £30k for a pile of unknown poop!
Carlie who as you may have read has taken over from Claire handled the whole process, and if you're REALLY new and reading this, don't do what someone else did.....you have to ring the Thatcham branch ONLY the Thatcham branch! A pal with a caterham called one of their random offices and afterwards called me a muppet as the quote was way too high...idiot hadn't listened properly!

Re: Insurance renewal
Good idea on getting an agreed value, might try that this year but will have to reassemble the car first.
Enjoy your 7 miles BTW

Yeah, Mark's scaling back his blatting this year.
With mine, they didn't want a photo of the speedo, but they did want a photo of the car in the garage.

Re: Insurance renewal
...but with A Plan you can only renew twice with an agreed value so at 3rd renewal one has to go elsewhere. I cannot see any logic in this at all so I am forced to go elsewhere this August (unless they change their rules). Especially for a kit car where there is no standard valuation facility such as Glass's Guide, one has to rely on your own valuation vs the pics giving the condition, I suppose. In the end you pay for the agreed value and I am happy to do so, just wish A Plan felt the same.

Re: Insurance renewal
not sure what you mean exactly Richard? do you mean that you get an agree value for 2 years and then it lapses?
If so yes you're correct, the agreed value is for 1 year & 1 reneal, but there's nothibg to stop you ( with A plan) in requesting a further agreed value with fresh photos etc in year 3. That's exactly what i have done and that's the 3rd time that i've done that.....so i've had agreed values with them for 5 years.....(them meaning A-Plan)

Re: Insurance renewal
Thanks for that Mark, I am also on my second year of a agreed value. I was told last year when I renewed that my agreed value would laps next year as in this July. So all I do is take some new photos / write a note / letter saying what my valuation I feel my car is worth and they after looking in to it will say yay or nay ? is that right.

Re: Insurance renewal
Yep that's right. Probably helps them (although not requested) if you provide an overview/spec of the car a kind of justification for the proposed value.
