Standard white gel coat is not too far from my faded Tiger white.

Looks like gel coat was not thick enough. There is some blue tints showing through top surface from blue lay up resin. When held to the light you can see why from underside. Might just have been a bit too hot for laying the gel coat. Garage is around 30 or more and wisdom says GRP work best at 15-20 degrees.

I had the opposite problem over the winter. The garage was constantly less than 10 degrees often 5! Had to buy what looks like a jet engine and crank that up. I did enjoy doing the glass work though. Keep up the good work!

Cheers. Yes fun so far. As long as you are careful to keep mess to a minimum - once you start getting drips and spills it quickly starts getting messy when working against the clock.

Good job, looking at build pictures of mine there was no gel coat, don't envy you tackling that. My fibreglass patching drying in the garden, where the bonnet and side pods have lived for a few days now. If next time I'm out there's a hint of masking tape and greaseproof paper you'll know my DIY release agent didn't work

It only worked
SWMBO best greaseproof paper with a card backing to follow the shape of the side pod, held in place with masking tape. A few places round the edge of the holes where I didn't use quite enough resin, nothing a bit of filler won't fix

Nice work both. My attempts were not as sophisticated. Old cereal boxes cut up and taped to body part then layed up with resin and mat. Pulled off some card once gone off, removed rest with power file then skimmed with filler.
Power.. small nail, fast hammer, Torque.. small nail, big hammer.. I got a big hammer

Fair play Tony. If your guests ask why the roast has an interesting flavour, quickly pour them some more wine.
