So today was the halfway point of the season. The event was supporting the british gt championship with f3's, ginetas, and caterham 420's really good meet the whole paddock was buzzing. Was really good to see Billy Monger racing its incredible how he can get the car round so quick fair play to him.
So in the boiling heat today we new it was going to be a struggle plus a track i didnt know was all becoming a challenge. We made a custom vent to try and get some air into the car kinda mad max style
So quli went really well, i used the out lap as bit of a sighting lap working out braking points and apex points then as i enterd clearways for the 1st time it was flat out. My lap times were coming down and down as i was learning how hard i could push. The gp track is awsome would love to have a day on it. After quli i was exhausted but managed 14th over all and 7th out of our tintops with a 1.51.075 This meant i out qulifiyed 5 ep3 type r's astra vxr mini copper s but to name a few.
The race was even better had some real close racing for the entire race. The 1st 3 corners were about staying out of trouble then push through. This is what happend. Couple of huge moments 1 of which i was drafting a car up the long straight an inch from his rear bumper when his reverse lights came on thought to myself shite hes blown it up in a split second o pulled out the draft and passed him, think it was the old flick the switch on the dash trick. The other stand out moment was at paddock i went really deep into the braking zone to get the cut back on the 2 cars infront. As i turned in there was a huge cloud of gravel dust across the track to the point i couldnt even see the bridge so as i went round i lifted to let the car move to the right then lofted through the cloud as i really could see nothing. This alowed the 2 others to get away. Hey ho time to catch up again which i did. I knocked another second of my quli time best being 1.50.114
Car infront beat me my 3 hundreths of a second good close racing.
The result for me was 12th overall and 9th in tin tops. Rason for this is we all got grid places after quli readjust to ket more of the midified salons out.
I got 2nd on my class which is the highest contested so real happy and another great points haul.
Some people know we have been looking after and preparing another civic. Kam done really well too with a 3rd out of tontops and 2nd in class. So for team snodhurst a great day

You forgot the when you was 4 wheel drifting over the top and down paddock out onto the rumble strip, looked good from my position on the side lines. Bet it was an omg in the car. All said and done another cracking day.

Re: August 5th british gt meet
Well what a day that was , Jay done all we could have hoped for if not better he got the best out of the little old civic and as he said was able to show a few later cars theirs still life in the old girl.
He has never driven the GP b4 so was a baptism of fire , I said I was sure he could get a 1min 50 sec round it and that is a very respectable time with the car as it is. He said he never stopped learning the whole of qualifying and in the race thats never a bad thing. He was sure he could have gone faster with more track time. He was not given the grid positions or the second place in the race he earned them and this could be seen by the amount of body fluid he leaked out while driving , we can only hope they change the rules to allow a roof vent. Best parts of the day apart from seeing Jay get Second place was watching the other car we are looking after do very well, Jay drifting over and down paddock , and how i loved Rod Birley car failing after having to hear to commentator droning on about him for 5 mins of the race

Sorry couldn't make this one Team Snodhurst.
So glad you all had a great day. Congrats to Jay for a tremendous result and an all round team effort.
Hum I wonder if Mr Birley will change the rules ? cars no older than 5 years can compete !!
