New Westy Owner

Postby too late » Wed Oct 10, 2018 8:19 pm

Hi all

Purchased in July is my 2ltr 230bhp aerorace chassis Westfield

The shopping list is growing and i already have a list of fixes which i need to do. I am also playing with the idea of replacing the tuned 2ltr zetec for either a turbo or supercharged blacktop...
Question, are there any turbo or supercharged westies local for me to have a nose over?

Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick and welcome to the club. Smart looking westie. There are a couple of forced induction westie in the club.

Rob e has a supercharged one and Steve RST has a turbo one. Not sure if Steve is about at the moment as he was about to go off on a Bike tour for 3 months (again) but they are the guys to speak to.

I am in the closing stages of supercharging my MK Indy buts it’s neither a westie or a Ford so probably no use to you.

Once again welcome.

Hi Nick, welcome to SKCC :)
I read your post over on Pistonheads earlier, I'm no help to you, I have a 1.6 with 125bhp and no plans to upgrade

And of course there’s others that simply don’t bother going round the corner at all

Welcome to the skcc. Can’t help you on the turbo stuff, running an overheater V7, started out as a Rover V8 attached to a fuel tanker.

Can’t beat a V8 :D

Hi Nick,
230bhp from a N/A Zetec is a good set up. I run a silvertop Zetec Turbo dyno'd at 269bhp at 0.9 bar boost and 235bhp at 0.5 bar. Not in a Westie though, it's in a Quantum 2+2, so still fwd. I didn't build it but happy to try and answer questions if I can.

Jeff had a supercharged Zetec with, I think about 400bhp, so he too should be able to give advice.
