New Westy owner - Hi!

Postby Rickyrjb » Thu Oct 18, 2018 8:48 pm

Hi all,
I have found myself back in a Westfield after 24 year out of one... OMG i forgot how much fun these car are. 24 year ago I built my own however this time around I brought a pre built car. Would love to meet other car owner and have some run outs in the winter sun. Are there any meet over my way as most tend to be further west from what I have seen. I am near Cranbrook in Kent. TN17 area

Hi Ricky and welcome. There is a good eastern contingent so don’t feel alone. I’m just down the road from you, others very close by. My cars a bit poorly at the moment, gets hot, drinks too much and a bit slow. Usually quite a few runs passing by your back door. Cranbrook road to Tenterden a favourite and Hartley through Biddenden and onto the Lyddring another.

Plenty of others in the area, I’m sure they will be along soon to say hello. :)

Hi Ricky, and welcome onboard. Good to have another 'kenter'....
to answer your question about 'meets' etc....
the club as you have seen spans a wide area, therefore there are no official meets per se - instead the club is designed for folks to post their own ideas/shout outs for a get together or Company - those would be found or posted ( by ANY member ) in the members run section.
There are Group events in err - Group events that would relate/potentially be of interest to anyone across the patch - bigger gatherings, road trips, static events etc.

I'm up in 7oaks where there's a cple of us, and i either pop across to the 'mid area' surrey/sussex for runs, or in normal years catch up with guys east of me (like Mike). Been a strange year as a fair few in Kent have been off the road for most of the year, hopefully that'll change in coming period.

But as said....do pop up any shout out for beers/drives etc

Welcome to SKCC :)

I built a Westfield 28 years ago, but swapped to building a Caterham second time round.

Hope to see you on a run.

Hi Tony
A little off patch for me I am afraid (Nutley is 1hr out) Although tomorrow looks like it’s going to be a cracking day. Might take a spin out to Rye for some chips instead. Enjoy and be safe!
