When I changed my lights to led the spring clips were the worst part. Spent many happy minutes searching for errant springs in dArk corners. The clips are best put on with needle nose pliers I found

Success!!
Once I had the aperture for the light opened up, it dropped right in.
The clips weren't really an issue either, just hook the first end in and then bend the other end under with needle nose pliers. Whilst holding my thumb over the clip, for the inevitable slip!

Now just to bolt them up and get to wiring...
