7:30 start
Met with Matt at Tesco
Then a nice run to Newington B.D.Engineering near Sittingbourne
https://bdengineering.co.uk/
Blagged a couple of coffees had a bit of a chat. Got the tiger on the rollers and set up for it’s first run
First run,
Run through the gears and it proper bogged down when he tried to put the power down.
Matt and I decided to go for a bit of breakfast and leave him to get on with it.
When we got back, he was just putting the bonnet on, told me to take it for a spin
What can I say smooth and quick acceleration
When I got back, he said this was one of your problems, and he handed me my HT lead cover, it turns out it was crushing down on the VVT sensor and shorting the connections, which was knocking out the VVT, (connection is a Dan St wiring loom not ford so quite a loose connection)
He also adjusted needle jets, one from the top,
Took a look at Matts attempts on adjusting the map and said that Matt had done well, and didn’t really adjust anything else on the map.
As you can see I may of lost a couple of ponies but not bad for a engine that came straight out of breakers with no rebuilds only new race line sump and flywheel, clutch And of course a bit of Blue paint.
Refitted the modified ht cover.
Then Matt and I decided to have a bit of Blat home. Matt made up a little 66mile run out through Tenterdon and Leeds castle then across to Tunbridge Wells.
But before we even got going the tiger was playing up, so quick pit stop and removed the HT cover, and we was away, with the tiger running on top form.
But my sat nav,the only one between us with the route. decided to keep shutting down at the vital parts, normally at some single bumpy track lane With no sign posts
Overall a good day,
Thanks Matt for coming along and the little 66miles run home, sorry about the lap of leads castle satNav kept on saying turn right
A few adjustments when I got home with HT lead cover and found the original ford vvt plug so resoldered that on.

Sounds like you've got a nice strong engine. Has the fuel economy improved?
Nice day out

Bollocks, I was going to come to this, completely forgot about it.
Well done Kev and Matt, it was nice to know the map was good in the first place. Its crazy all the little things that course big problems.
A good result anyway and a enjoyable drive home.

Yeah I think so, probably used less then half tank for the day
Unlike someone else who put fuel in at the start and then on the way home

Re: B.D Engineering Rolling Road
Cheers,
Yeah Was a good day,
Good experience, and to hear how bad the bogging down was from outside the car.
How close we was to solving it ourselves with the HT lead cover as a couple of times, we ran the car without it, but just thought it was the VVT solenoid that was the issue
Just got to get these bad boys on the tiger now

But your tank is twice the size of mine! think of all that extra weight slowing you down

You'll really notice the new tyres, especially braking
