Hi, sorry for the late greeting.
Coincidence maybe but a nice orange MK Indy was racing down Silverstone on Sunday (4th Trax) track-day. My son was on track in his Civic vti, and I am being ‘encouraged’ to take my Caterham on next year – gulp, (steady, all in good time I say).
Welcome.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the club, and looking forward to seeing you around on the roads as I am just North of you at Haslemere, on the A3!

Not posted on here for a while as I have been rebuilding my (joint owned) MK Indy (Pinto powered) after a bit of a coming together, however had to reply to your post as your symptoms sound very similar to my issues with the MK when it was first purchased.

My problem was that the car had positive camber, this caused the car to not center the steering and to effectively wander left and right on a straight road (if it hit a bump and headed off in a direction it would continue in that direction, not centering the steering wheel), which sounds kind of like your issue.

My mate who builds Mustang racing cars checked the wheel geometry for me and identified this pretty much straight away and then proceeded to fix it... the car drove so much better afterwards.

Here is a link to the post I put up about it.

Hope that helps and again welcome to the club!!!

Cheers,
Terry.
