Lee,

forget the stress of e bay and for the sake of a good warranty I would go to TomTom and pay up the £99.

Must admit, I've got a bit fed up with auctions on the 'Bay, it's all about the last 10 seconds....

You've got the bulletcam from Jeff right? Looked up the thread, and it seems you have the shiny metal collar to go with that, which has a tripod bush on the outside. So, that being the case, you want to be looking at this, or something like it:

http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/super-clamp-ball-and-socket.html

Paul's got one for his bulletcam, and I use one with my HDMax. Rock solid, from my tripod manufacturer of choice. You might think it's overkill for a bulletcam, but you don't want something that wobbles, and if you got something bigger later one, well you don't need another mount. I'd recommend getting the ball and socket head as in the picture, not just the clamp (which does come with a rigid spigot which allows you to just mount your camera flush) because you're bound to want or need to set it an an angle. If I've got it wrong about the collar, then Dogcam do those as well.

14 seconds or less is my rule of thumb for placing a bid, but yeah, it requires a stable Internet connection. The key is to have a maximum amount in your mind and bid the full amount in one go and don't get caught up in a bidding fury. Also don't get too hung up on one particular auction, there's loads of them out there. After a few attempts of last-dying-seconds "sniping" you'll bag one for the right price.

Oh and if you can be there at a computer/smartphone at close of auction don't even bother placing a single bid before the last dying seconds as all you're doing is increasing the potential for the closing price to be higher than necessary.

My 2p.

Lee,

You need an Auction Sniper account, see; http://www.auctionsniper.com/default.aspx

Find the item you want to bid for on eBay, copy the item number, go to your Auction Sniper account and add the item number, set your max bid like eBay and it will bid in the last seconds of the auction, to avoid anyone beating you to it. If your highest bid is outbid during the earlier stages of the auction you'll get an email to advise you of this giving you the opportunity to increase your max bid. If someone else has a higher bid upper limit you'll still be outbid, but if they haven't, they won't have time to react..........you may have already been 'sniped' by the sounds of it.

Happy sniping

I run the 750 Live TT Lee, good choice. I use the Autocom for in car and at some point will buy the ear bins as currently we only have the in helmet connections.

Good to know ref my new satnav...
I went for the cheap chatterbox as it was only 20 quid...my thoughts were that i would only use intercom when someone else is in the car which is not often at all i, the 750 has an output connextion anyway, so if i do want to listen to a sexy yank voice when alone in the car i can..
