hi to all..Searching for good advice!!!
Hi to all at the club, would love to get a runout with you some time, not to easy being from West Wales, but i joined because after reading alot of forums this was head and shoulders above any other, everybody seems very helpful and there are loads of bits on offer.....Built a few Escorts in the past for rallying, this was my first venture into kit cars...Have a Locost with a suzuki GSXR1000 engine /box, ajustable suspension etc..all very well preped and built although not by me, i would like to step it up a bit now and just bought a cossie 3.62 lsd and want to change the xr4i drum set up for discs...Without stripping everything and measuring will the discbrake hub bolt onto the locost drum hub carrier, i can fabricate a new bracket for the caliper if none are available but are the bolt holes common size for disc or drum...any advice will be great.......top club.

Hi Mark and welcome.
I have the same set up as you at the back and as I understand it it isn't a direct swap. I do believe Rally Design do a conversion kit but wouldn't swear to it on the bible?!
Hope to see you in Wales 5/6th May when we drift into Wales on the Road trip.
Once again welcome.
...............Neil

Welcome indeed, & like was just said, come & see us next week. 'Fraid I can't help with the spacifics, other than to ask if the rear discs are going to be worthwhile. I have Sierra 9" drums on the back of the Fury & have half-heartedly been looking to go down to 8" drums. The 9" were used on the back of Transits, so are over-speced for a kit car So I thought the reduction in unsprung weight would be more benificial. Just my opinion of course - I do like to play Devil's advocaat

It would be good to see you when we're in Wales. As for the discs, they undoubtedly look better, but I'm with Fury1630, you don't need the stopping power of discs at the rear, so you'll need to add some form of compensator to reduce the braking force at the rear to something similar.........to drum brakes

Hello and welcome
There's a lot to be said for drums on a very light car like yours.
If you are happy with the balance at the moment it might be better to stick with them.

Welcome.
I've got non vented discs at the front and drums at the back. Seems to have plenty of stopping power and easy to lock the wheels.
Rear discs look cooler of course, but they can be tricky to get through IVA, even with a proportioning valve.
