Bit of back ground from me,my names scott i use to ride a bike as a living lived life a bit fast and broke a lot of stuff lost a lot of mates(they are dead they didnt just hate me and bugger off) so decide to sort me self out stop the drugs booze woman and bikes....smiling!!! And get a proper job fast forward 10 years gradually been getting fatter less fit smiling less and getting worse and worse migraines so after a lot of specialist and different drugs i went to see a top neurologist we had a long chat about my past and when all the head aches really started to get worse and he said that he cant really prescribe sex drugs and rock and roll but he personally found bikes helped him(has the same condition)!!!! But he said as i have seen your xrays i think a fast car is a better idea!!!! Now the wife was present at the time so she had to take this and agree!!!
So i am here by docters orders for advice on getting me a lotus 7 type kit car!!

(Having re read that it sounds abit like a sob story from the start of x factor but its all true!)
Since giving up bikes i have been off roading in jeeps doing trials nothing to competitive and although i really love it i just cant get the want to fast thing out of me no mater what i do so intend to do a few track days maybe bimonthly if pos.
I have done a bit of reading and it seems the robin hoods are not the ones to go for if track days are to taken on? Any views on this please? And as much as i love bike engines after seeing(i think) a indy with a bike engine in it in a que the other day not sure i could handle that for long although sure the gear box would be amazing on the track and seem to be abit out of my budget at the any way,
As to budget as i need instant smiles i need to buy a ready built motor for now although i have a workshop i could build one in i have no time at the mo and as said need smiles by the spring really so with the way i work ready built is the way to go for now.
I am looking in the £4/4500 budget not great i know but i got married this year so had a few large bills already as you can imagine!!
So please fire away with advice engine wise etc i like revs but i think i may end up with a tuned pinto by the look of it but i suppose i can change it later once i am on the road i dont need huge power like the mk indy but they all look kinda cool.
Not sure what to look for when looking is there tell tale signs of "a good build"? What should be on the paper work etc.
Bit much writing there sorry.scott
