I have a set of 4 standard length trumpets if you want them free.
Interestingly, they came off my Westfield with tuned 1700 crossflow as I couldn't fit the air filters under the bonnet.
I replaced them with short ones like yours, and to be honest, I didn't notice any difference in driveability.

Re: Weber type 40 DCOE 18 and advice ..
Thanks Duncan for the kind offer.
Spoke to Andy at BD engineering today (thanks for recommendation), who seems a very nice guy , He advises ditching the current carbs and fitting some 32/36 DGAV or DGV units, he says he is willing to fit units i get and then sort out the power band on the test road. So if anyone has any of these for sale I'd be
interested. Will put another post up for wanted.

forgot to add...I did mention the performance cam , he thinks i should be able to stick with that and still get some usable low down power with standard carbs.

I have a pair of webber 40's in the garage as well, that I used to have on my 7, but after two years of trying to keep them in balance and other problems of over fueling, and carb fire, and about 10 mpg
thackery washers breaking, fuel spueing out everywhere, and a STINK of petrol any waher near the car
so, I gave up and put the 28/32 dcd back on,
hardly any difference in power, sooo much easier to drive, and about 30mpg
and that's how my car will stay!

The Fury got 33mpg at blatting speed with the Xflow on Dellortos & they didn't go off balance - which was disappointing as I'd bought a manometer carb balancer.

Webers or Dellortos if in good condition then set up correctly should not go out of tune easily if they do then they need a good service and resetting.
They should and will give good mpg and good performance if done correctly. Remember you are tuning each cylinder to its own requirements with dcoe carbs
