You never know i could still win.
So does Richard ever give a maximum for his chassis BHP Torque top speed.
There must be a designed maximum for each chassis or it it just a case of put as much power / torque as you like and if it breaks don't come back.
I know that people who go over the 300bhp usually say more power just makes the car undriveable so is there a limit of drive-ability that is reached before the chassis starts to suffer.

He'd need 4bhp extra for that 0.1mph Tony

Hi Jonny, Welcome to the club.
There are a few of us now that are close to you. I am based in hampton along with another tiger owner.
Maybe you can make the Tiger owners meet, i am sure the other won't mind a GBS turning up, as long as you buy the first round.
Watch out for TonyB he is not the fastest driver around, he always likes a head start.
Hope to see you out soon.
Nick

Re: Jonny in Leatherhead, Surrey (GBS Zero)
err think you're missing the point T-B....there's no guarantee that it will be much quicker, logically it would but how much will depend on the power curve of that engine. All the diff will do is mean that Jon is at a slightly higher rev point at a given speed. S if the 2 of you are doing 50mph in 4th T might be at 3000 revs and John might be at say 3300 ( havent got gear calc so this is an abstract example)......so when the right pedals are mashed to the floor logically Jon's engine would be further up teh power curve and would have more torque to play with, which would mean slightly quicker acceleration.
dont think there will be much diff although i'm keen to see, whereas for me i worked out that a 4.4 diff would be perfect but bloody noisy.
or i suppose i could have said the affect would be similar to someone blatting in 3rd all day long and someone in 4th.....

mmmm we seem to have wandered.
Given that the 'new members' section is akin to inviting a few potential new pals around for a drink this has the hallmarks of us not wiping our feet, whacking some 'dc onto the hi-fi and raiding the fridge.......
Errr sorry Jon, where are our manners.
Hope to catch you out and about after the reg, but as said before welcome to join in brekkie in the tin top if you'd like....

Hi Guys,
Well, I have only done 82 miles in the car so far (all those trips to the MOT centre to get my Emissions checked)
. I set my rev limiter to 4500rpm as it a new engine and only tuned to get through the IVA (running a bit lean).
So far I have found the following:
1st gear is pointless way to short, so I normal start in 2nd.
Had it up to 80 in 5th @ 4500 (so the figures below stack up based on my speedo being 4mph out).
My uneducated calculated guess is around 102-105, Gearcal thinks the following:
Peak Power 6k, limit 7.2k
Gear Mph per 1000 RPM Mph @6000 RPM Mph @7200 RPM
--------------------------------------------------------
1 4.38 26 32
2 7.60 46 55
3 11.62 70 84
4 15.80 95 114
5 19.04 114 137
