Part built kit

Postby Harquil1908 » Wed Oct 05, 2016 7:49 pm

Hi all!

I'm overhalf way through building my mac#1 and after having fitted the engine I was told I had to be out of my garage that I was using for free.

I'm finding it hard to find a garage I can afford and keep building the car so I'm looking to find someone to finish it for me.

Anyone have any suggestion or recommendations?!

Thanks

ah that's a bugger, hope you find a solution - meantime, perhaps a bit more info about where you are, exactly what stage the car is at etc may be useful to those that might have an idea or two....

There are some good garages around that will do this but like Mark says, need your location mate. Theres one company in Fareham (name escapes but I'll find it for you) also Raw offer this service (Hereford).

Look in the back of kitcar magazine to as there are a few advertised.

PS. I rent my garage from the housing association for £44 per month mate. No power obviously but high quality cordless tools and LED lighting and you are away!

How about the lovely boys and girls at Snodhurst, I've heard that they are quite good with putting things together!!!

These are the guys that finished my Striker for the previous owner. Whilst the build passed IVA and is generally good.... They are big fans of cable ties from what I can see and the loom is not great. All things Im rectifying now in my rebuild/mods. However like I say it passed IVA and I dont know at which stage that they took my Striker on. Previously I've heard great things.

I'm editing this post to say (as I forgot to) that I'm gonna give them a call to ask at which stage they got my Striker and what their opinion is on a few things on my car. Everyone in my local area speaks very highly of them.

Southways are the guys building my Nova - you can take a browse through my build thread here to see the quality of their work etc.

I've a feeling they are busy at the moment, but give them a ring about taking on another project.

Hammy - I remember seeing the Striker in the workshop, there are some pics of it on their Facebook, but I can't remember how complete it was when it arrived. I've a feeling it was an 'IVA prep' job though, so likely fairly complete. Rich will know if you call them

Oh cool, I'll give them a shout. I reiterate I'd only heard good things over the years. Youre probably right and it was just IVA prep
