Gear ratio calculation question

Postby steve m » Sat Dec 17, 2016 5:27 pm

I have my gear box in bits again, due an oil leak, and just wanted to check, which ratios I have,
First gear, has 28/13 teeth, that gives me a ratio 2.15 from an online calculator
The problem is, theres no such ratio for my gearbox ?

Is it just a case of counting the teeth on both cogs for that gear, or am I missing something ?

steve
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

Steve,

This article has a table of ratios at the end; http://www.dominicbolton.freeuk.com/art ... rboxes.pdf

Not sure if it helps?
Tiger Cat E1 - 2008-2009
Tiger R6 - 2009-2014
Austin Healey Sprite - 2014-2018
Fisher Fury Le Mans - 2018-2019

Don't know if this helps:

If you have MS Excel you can load the page direct, if not here's a copy of gearbox info.

Thanks for the replies
Even from the links, there does not seem to be anything which matches my gears
so the plan is, to put it back together, and sort the ratio's out then

Just out of interest steve what diff ratio do you have?(guessing you have a live axle?) I have 3.54 which seems to blunt things a bit but helps on the motorway with the 4speed.
Luego with a mighty 104bhp!!!
