Carb Tuning Company in Southampton??

Postby Alextreme » Mon Mar 06, 2017 5:27 pm

Does anyone know a small company who can help with setting up my Weber carbs in Southampton (ideally a small garage / company!). The engine runs fine except at tickover... everything else has been cross off the list as possible causes and I need some who know his carbs to have a look at the set up. The power is fine and when it is reving... it is just rough at tickover. I have used Neil from http://www.readperformance.co.uk and is great however his location makes getting there a pain!
Cheers Alex

Tom Airy http://www.aireytuning.com was always good with carbs. He has a rolling road so can do the complete setup.

I'm not sure, the best thing would be to give him a call.

Presumably the carbs have been balanced? A good balancing has sorted out a rough idle on mine a few times - I have a four manometer carb balancer, but it's in Guildford.

That is a good idea... I will try balancing them. it was done last time it was on the RR around a year ago but perhaps it has no longer balanced. Alex

It is a problem with those carbs they tend to go out of tune quite quickly

It seems I very much missed the chance to say Airey Tuning, genius with carbs and old skool
